Biography
You will often hear Nicole talk about her love of the counseling profession’s uniqueness in placing equal value on both the art and science techniques of treatment. She first learned this in 2001 as a foster care and adoptions case manager in Florida then at a mental health agency for children in Cincinnati. Since then, Nicole has worked as a counselor in a university counseling center, a community mental health agency and in private practice. She uses her Certified Trauma Therapist certification to work with victims of interpersonal violence and with couples to help them cope with trauma between, before and upon the relationship.
Nicole holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication Arts and Psychology from Cedarville University and a Master of Arts Degree in Clinical Counseling from Xavier University. She is currently ABD with a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Regent University; her dissertation focuses on the intersection of multicultural and spiritual competency in counselors. Nicole taught as an adjunct professor in the counseling department at Xavier University for 2 ½ years before coming to Missio Seminary.
