Gary is a 1985 graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Advertising. In the late ‘90’s, he was called to return to school and, in 1999, earned a M.A. in Ministry from Missio (Biblical) Seminary. As a PGA Teaching Professional and Coach for over 35 years, Gary spends a large part of his time helping people hone their craft at the Gary Bates Golf Academy in Winslow, NJ. He is also a licensed real estate agent with Keller Williams in Cherry Hill, NJ.

Gary is a faithful servant of God who regularly gives of his time and talent to bless others in his community as well as the Missio community. He finds himself living by his uncle’s quote, which he has adopted as guideline for life, “Work hard, be honest, get spiritual guidance.” His desire to serve others led him to lead the Fellowship of Christian Athletes ministry as the South Jersey Representative as well as serve as a Singles Pastor for his church, Fellowship Alliance Chapel, in Medford, NJ.  When asked how he maintains his life of faithful servanthood, he relies on Proverbs 3:5-6, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”

In his leisure time, Gary enjoys playing and watching sports, disc golf, pickle ball and skiing.  He currently resides in Cherry Hill, NJ and is excited to be part of the Missio team as an Ambassador!
