It is during trying times like these that God works most powerfully through His people.Ā Over the past few days, I have heard dozens of stories of Missio students and alumni serving others in powerful, creative, and sacrificial ways in the midst of this crisis.

As a seminary, our ministry extends far beyond the classroom, and we are committed to serving, supporting, and resourcing you, our Missio family, as you follow Jesus into the world at such a time as this.Ā Knowing that prayer is the primary work of the people of God,Ā we will be hosting a prayer call via Zoom each Friday morning at 9 amĀ for the next four weeks (at least) to pray for the ministries, churches, and communities represented and served by our students, alumni, supporters, and partner organizations.

If you are unable to participate during the call, we would still like to pray for you.Ā You can replyĀ hereĀ with any specific requests.

May God bless you,
Frank A. James III, DPhil, PhD
President, Missio Seminary

Here are a few resources you may find helpful during this time:

  • An article that President Frank James shared with the faculty and staff this week: Love in the Time of Coronavirus, by Andy Crouch.
  • Missio Affiliate Faculty member JR Briggs shared thisĀ simple letterĀ he and his family used to reach out to his neighbors in a creative way.
  • Free Digital SummitĀ to help churches and leaders respond to COVID-19 from the Humanitarian Disaster Institute at Wheaton College.

I look up to the mountains ā€” does my help come from there? My help comes from theĀ Lord, who made heaven and earth!
He will not let you stumble; the one who watches over you will not slumber. Indeed, he who watches over Israel never slumbers or sleeps. TheĀ LordĀ himself watches over you!
The Lord stands beside you as your protective shade. The sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon at night. TheĀ LordĀ keeps you from all harm and watches over your life.
TheĀ LordĀ keeps watch over you as you come and go,Ā both now and forever.

(Psalm 121, New Living Translation. My wife Carolyn and I have been meditating on this.)
