Thom’s Bio:

Thom’s career in non-profit management and fundraising began in 1981 with Houghton College (Houghton, NY). He has served as the chief development officer with two graduate theological seminaries and a private university and as an executive with a Christian community foundation. A graduate of Houghton, he also earned his MS (Educational Administration) from the State University College of New York at Buffalo, NY (1985).

He has served as a speaker and faculty member with the Association for Biblical Higher Education, In Trust magazine, the Middle Atlantic Christian School Association, Christian Stewardship Association, Christian Management Association, The Mennonite Foundation’s Biennial Development Conference, and the Murdock Charitable Trust Fund Raising Institute (Vancouver, WA).

Thom has consulted for and worked with many Christian ministries and other non-profit organizations. Current and immediate past clients include Eastern University (St. David’s, PA), Jubilee Ministries (Lebanon, PA), Lebanon County Christian Ministries (Lebanon, PA), Lebanon Rescue Mission (Lebanon, PA), Missio Seminary (Hatfield, PA), Nueva Esperanza (Philadelphia, PA), Oxford Circle Christian Community Development Association (Philadelphia, PA), Peaceful Living (Harleysville, PA), seeJesus (Telford, PA), and the University of Valley Forge (Phoenixville, PA).

He and his wife Margaret have two adult sons, two daughters-in-law, and two grandchildren, with a third on the way! Their lives since their marriage in 1975 have centered upon the church and Christian ministries. From 1974 till 1977, Thom was a member of the United States Army Band in New York City, during which time his and Margaret’s faith in Jesus Christ blossomed. They are actively involved in ministry at Immanuel Church of the Nazarene in Lansdale, PA.

In 1997 Thom earned the designation CFRE (Certified Fund Raising Executive), the credential recognized by leading philanthropic organizations acknowledging tenure, achievement, education, knowledge, and service.
