Dear Missio Students,

Mayor Jim Kenney has announced that all non-essential commercial activity will be suspended in the city of Philadelphia from 5 pm today (March 16th) through at least March 27th. Missio does not qualify under the list of essential commercial activity so we will be suspending on-campus operations until March 27th in compliance with the city and will watch closely for any changes in the coming days. Please read the announcement from the Mayor here for more details and current health information from the city.

The campus will be closed and staff and faculty will work remotely until further notice. During this time the best way to contact faculty and staff is via email. We will do our best to respond in a timely manner and we greatly apologize for any inconvenience. Below is a list of important emails.

Financial Aid / Student Accounts – kbillups@missio.edu
Dean of Students – pzazzo@missio.edu
Library – rmcconnell@missio.edu
Information Technology – helpdesk@missio.edu
Webmaster/ECampus – webmaster@missio.edu

As you’re already experiencing, current courses are being offered online via Zoom until at least April 3rd. We hope things are going well so far. As noted previously, if you have technical issues feel free to email the IT Help Desk at helpdesk@missio.edu. Please contact your faculty members via eCampus or email if you need to get in touch with them.

We’ll continue to update you via eCampus as the situation develops. Make sure that you check there regularly for updates.

For the Registrar’s Office, both Colleen and I are checking in to email. I can still assist you with advising and registration questions remotely, either by email or phone (send me an email and we can set up a phone appointment). Additionally, if you’re an international student with questions about OPT or I20 re-issuance, I can take care of these items remotely as well. I’ll just have to mail paperwork to your house instead of having you pick up.

We are in uncharted territory as a seminary and as a country. We hope and pray that we’ll be able to return to a regular business schedule soon, but in the meantime, we will do our best and pray for health, peace, and provision for you and our community.

Thank you,

Julie Cowen, MA
