Missio Seminary has an immediate opening for an Assistant Professor and Fieldwork Coordinator

Position Overview

This position requires a completed PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision. Responsibilities include teaching master’s level counseling courses, integrating theology in teaching, providing leadership for fieldwork, supervising practicum and internship students, and advising students. The Assistant Professor/Fieldwork Coordinator must support and adhere to Missio Seminary’s Conviction Statement. This is a resident faculty position.

 Qualifications

  • A maturing Christian committed and able to articulate the missional vision of Missio Seminary to the seminary’s varied constituents, and to help Missio Seminary achieve its mission and vision
  • Doctorate in counselor education and supervision from a CACREP-accredited program (or doctorate in a related field and full-time faculty member for a minimum of one full academic year before July 1, 2013)
  • Professional counselor licensure required, practicing one day per week
  • Ability to teach counseling courses and integrate theology
  • Ability to coordinate and provide leadership for students’ fieldwork experiences
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills, including the ability to manage and prioritize projects independently and as a team member
  • Three or more years of experience providing clinical supervision
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Team-oriented, dedicated, and committed to the development of the GSOC
  • Active membership in state, regional, and/or national counseling associations. Three or more years of experience working with students and clients from historically marginalized populations
